Carolyn D. Jones

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Caroyln Jones is a native of Philadelphia, PA and has resided in the Washington, DC area for 7 years. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where she majored in chemical engineering. After 4 years with various chemical companies, she attended graduate school at Florida A&M University College of Pharmaceutical in Tallahassee, FL where she received her Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Jones worked 5 years at the Food and Drug Administration as a clinical pharmacologist working on drugs to lower cholesterol and treat osteoporosis. She is currently a Senior Professional Services Associate in Mental Health with Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Dr. Jones is the author of 4 publications in refereed scientific journals.

She is very active in the Washington, DC community and is on the Board of Directors for the Prince George's County Hotline and Suicide Prevention Center and the National Organization of People of Color (NOPCAS). She is also the chairperson of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund Inter-Alumni Council, which is an organization made up of alumni from public historically black colleges and universities.
